The level of investment in AI in Latin America and the Caribbean is very low, with barely 1.12% of global investments,

It has already been stated that LAC accounts for only 1.12% of venture capital investment in AI, according to CELAC. This is only one-sixth of what would correspond to its contribution to the world economy, which is 6.6% of the Global GDP.

Also, according to the company Smart Data, the cumulative private investment in LAC reached $6 billion USD, while the US amounted to $471 billion and China $119 billion in the period 2013–2024.
